Matt focuses his practice on workers’ compensation and personal injury law. Prior to joining Robinson and Kole, Matt spent nine years serving as an Assistant Attorney General representing the Departments of Labor and Industries, Social and Health Services, and Licensing throughout Central and Western Washington. His last two years were spent in the Torts Division, defending lawsuits filed against state agencies and officers related to personal injuries, employment issues, maritime law, and construction disputes.
Matt is a graduate of the Seattle University School of Law. He served as a member of the Washington Bar Association’s Civil Rules Committee and Professionalism Committee and as Co-Chair of the Whatcom Bar Association’s “Law Day in Schools” Committee. He is passionate about helping people understand and protect their rights.
Matt has also coached various youth athletic teams and served on various committees to support his sons’ school and extracurricular activities. He currently resides with his family in Bellingham. When not at work, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, as well as running, golfing, skiing, hiking, camping, and fishing.
